I found it hard to understand what NNK etc. actually meant, and I don't believe the information is anywhere in Wikipedia (eg searching Wikipedia and googling "site:en.wikipedia.org NNK").

The meaning of some common degenerate codons are given in [1] e.g. N = {A, C, G, T} K = { G, T} R = {A, G } S = { C, G } D = {A, G, T}
