Notability?[edit]

It would be helpful if somebody could explain what exactly need to be done to prove notability. I have added enough third party refs to the article. Travelsalesman (talk) 16:37, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have given refs from telegraph, Times of india, ANI etc. Also few refs were deleted in talk page, if any admin could help. regards, Travelsalesman (talk) 16:43, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to admin for talkpage restore, i could get back my Independent ref. I think article has enough notability, anybody may please point out any lapse here. Regards! Travelsalesman (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 11:05, 19 November 2008 (UTC).[reply]
I completely agree that Savita Bhabhi is notable, even though she is fictitious. She is already stirring up a lot of discussion. If Bollywood puts her in a movie, it will be an earthshaking event! For WP precedents, see Fritz the Cat (film), Heavy Traffic, South Park, The Simpsons, Zap Comix, and even Lady Chatterley's Lover. India may be in roughly the same place that the U.K. and U.S. where in when this work by D.H. Lawrence was banned. Today there's no question about LCL deserving an article, but D.H. Lawrence was widely belittled for writing it. LADave (talk) 05:09, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Massive deletions, no explanation[edit]

I contributed a section on "cultural context" because I thought readers coming from outside South Asia would not understand the meaning of the word "bhabhi" in traditional extended families or how the word is sexualized in that context and in the larger culture where extended families are no longer always a given. "Defender of Torch" deleted the entire section on 20 December 2009 at 16:58 with no discussion and no explanation except a "NPOV" notation. While I accept that this article is a controversial area, Wikipedia policy is this:

"When you find a passage in an article that you find is biased or inaccurate, improve it if you can. If that is not easily possible, and you disagree with a point of view expressed in an article, don't just delete it. Rather, balance it with what you think is neutral."

I propose restoring the deleted text and welcome discussion on this point. 76.169.50.90 (talk) 12:50, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:SYN. --Defender of torch (talk) 14:45, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've read WP:SYN. Perhaps you could help me by identifying which part of my section on "Cultural Context" you decided was "original research". After all, it's mostly quotations from other sources. I'm also curious why you resorted to wholesale deletion. I would have thought a discussion in the talk section should have at least been a preliminary. LADave (talk) 04:23, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have started a discussion at Talk:Bhabhi. Hope you will participate. LADave (talk) 11:39, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kirtu?[edit]

SB has since moved to kirtu.com, does anyone have any background info on this? --MK 11:31, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Drive-by deletion[edit]

On 18 December 122.176.246.252 deleted a list of Savita Bhabhi episodes without the expected courtesy of discussion or consensus. I have undone this change and invite discussion.

I note that Wikipedia has many lists of episodes of series productions in popular culture. Here is just a sample:

Reminder that Wikipedia is not censored[edit]

While you may find the article personally offensive, you have the option of not reading it. For better or worse, it has already been up for deletion and the community's consensus was to keep it. Feel free to improve the article but do not remove referenced material without discussing it here first. Ifnord (talk) 17:35, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ifnord: That seems some sort of vandalism. If it persists, I will request for RFPP since it seems to be coming from a IP. Adamgerber80 (talk) 00:39, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
