Apparently Troy & Schenectady Railroad is the correct name. Peter Flass (talk) 12:49, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Per Troy & Schenectady Railroad Website (KinglyHeirs.com):

The Schenectady & Troy Railroad, later known was the T&S; Branch, was originally owned by the City of Troy. It was the only steam railroad built and owned by a city not merely as a commercial venture but with a view to develop the commercial growth of a city.
. . .
The State Legislature in 1836, passed an act incorporating the Schenectady & Troy Railroad company.
. . .
In 1845, the Troy & Greenbush Railroad company was chartered. The road extended to Washington street, at which point it intersected the Schenectady & Troy railroad
. . .
The Schenectady & Troy was consolidated into the New York Central in 1853
. . .
The Troy & Schenectady Railroad, aka New York Central's Troy Branch.

Could use better sourcing for "name change" after it was consolidated and became a branch line. – wbm1058 (talk) 14:38, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
