I like the idea of splitting this into a separate page, so good job. Can you add some history of previous notable Schwagstocks, and please downsize the images and wrap them around the text? They are VERY slow to load on a dialup connection, and unless directly relevant to the article's topic, are difficult to justify. Runderwo 05:49, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Much agreed, the images need to be downsized and interspecred through the text. Also alot less would be really nice. 1 of shakedown streeet, 1 of the tent camping, 1 of the band on stage. A list of bands that have played stocks would be wonderful. The addition of ZOE RADIO would be a nice touch. The number of offical schwagstocks would be wonderful. The car in the lake is great schwagstock folk lore but telling the story might be a little of a challenge as there are conflicting ideas. Maybe just a small picture of the car in the actual lake, telling that while sleeping in the car some folks knocked it in drive, and that they eventually pulled it out. Now i do love the photos and i posted on the board some suggestions. I just dont wanna edit anyones work and step on any toes so to speak - Clint

Clint, I added several "features" of Schwagstock at Zoe, and left the photos for now. We should figure out what to do with them soon. Runderwo 04:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia article as a guide to Schwagstock

[edit]

I think this article could be very useful in a dual role - both to inform others about what is available at Schwagstock at Zoe, but also to serve as a guide for campers who have never been there before. Maybe we should consider both purposes while completing this article (in Wikipedia style, in any case). Runderwo 04:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a little bit about shakedown, but now the tornado sirens are going off. I'll try and add more later gotta jet!

I like it. I'll clean up the typos. Thanks! Runderwo 04:40, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a list of bands, real quick like from my memory, tried to get the bigger ones and the people who always play. Like spookie and such. I think with the pictures we should Use a picture of Eat At Zoes, but make it considerable smaller and let it wrap around the text. Same with 1 for shakedown and then maybe 1 of the camping, i really dig the shot across the lake with all the tents, i think it really brings it out. Maybe int he bands section find a nice pick of the schwag playing, something that really represents it well and put that to the right side. Maybe toss a pic of vince welnick playing cause i think that was a big coup for schwagstock as its the only member of the dead to come thus far. But yes we need less pics so the loading time is better and so the article fits in better with other wikipedia articles. I'll try and pay a little more attention to adding soem stuff both here and on the schwag webpage. I'll come up with some ideas and post it in the talk section on both - Clint

Article Deleters

[edit]

I have never done any editing to anything on this site, but something has come to my attention that needs to be addressed. The song "South Side" is not a Schwag original. It was written by Tim Moody and myself when we were in the band Naked Groove. We performed it over the last few years we were together and I would like to see this corrected. You can verify this with Tim if you would like. But out of respect for the other members of Naked Groove, it should be corrected. Mark ThomasSirmarkthomas 22:21, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why this article is constantly under siege. It is purely factual. If the articles on similar festivals such as Wakarusa and Burning Man are both encyclopedic and notable, then I am having trouble seeing why the Schwagstock article does not meet the same criteria. Runderwo 01:00, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest you have a look at WP:A. Also the argument you give is covered by WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I'll delete any paragraphs apart from the lead that don't have sources. Finally, this process is often referred to as stubbing and is a fairly standard response to articles that survive AfD, but lack sources. Addhoc 18:28, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently you misread my comment. OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is irrelevant -- I am not saying that they are breaking the rules, therefore this article should break the rules. I am saying that the same interpretation of the rules as applied to those pages, applied to this page, would not have resulted in deletion. Since primary eyewitness accounts used in creating the article don't seem to be good enough (even though everything posted is 100% verifiable), I guess such accounts will have to be stored on a different server and referred to. That seems like a waste of bandwidth and space, but so be it. I am tired of rewriting this article every time it receives another spurious deletion, and having to describe Schwagstock to others, instead of just pointing them to the article -- you know, the whole point of an encyclopedia. Confusing order of material

[edit]

If this article is supposed to be about both the band and the festival, it should be reorganized, with the intro indicating that. Acwilson9 (talk) 02:53, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
