Scott as an anglicized German surname.

Scott, according to the New York Passenger list was recorded as being the surname of 67 German immigrants.[1] Whether or not the surname was acquired upon arrival in the US is not mentioned. Also, the Jewish-English jazz musician Ronnie Scott used the surname 'Scott' as an anglicized variant of his family's original surname 'Schatt'. His family were originally Russian however, not German.
