Coverage in the Media

[edit]

This section seems to be sorely lacking actual media coverage - only 4 of the 12 citations are actually on media websites, with the rest being links to government websites or the SYP website. The section needs reformed or removed. Jackster (talk) 00:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it seems the referencing has just been done wrong. Still, someone telling a newspaper that an event has been a 'learning experience' isn't quite notable enough to be on a Wikipedia article, and a few of these stories seem to be nothing to do with the SYP at all, just about the antics of formers MSYPs.Jackster (talk) 00:44, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Having considered it further (I realise I'm talking to myself here btw), it seems the 'Coverage in the Media' section is little more than a trivia section in disguise and could probably mostly be redone and merged with the 'History' section.Jackster (talk) 01:45, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting The Coverage in Media Section

[edit]

To be honest, this section is wildly out of date and until recently full of irrelevant articles. Reports on members going to protests is simply not worthy of mention unless you write about every single member who has gone to a protest. I would personally like to see this section entirely removed. A new page on the SYP website has been setup about media coverage, it would work much better to just link there rather than have that one section here which constantly falls out of date and is stuffed full of irrelevant items. Any one else agree ? S119234 (talk) 21:30, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:36, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
