what happened? "it was all over" that is not informative. the assumption is that he lost. this is an encyclopedia, be explicit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by J2xshandy (talkcontribs) 23:36, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Change it. Essexmutant 15:25, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There is a lot more to Scotty Nguyen than this article. I recently read an extremely revealing interview in February's Edition of 'Inside Poker' magazine. Scotty talked frankly on experiences in his life which included drug addiction, suicide attempts, monster losses in pit games, women, booze etc. etc. A much more detailed article is required imo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.70.181.1 (talk) 13:45, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

50k H.O.R.S.E. Controversy[edit]

I have reverted the section called 50k H.O.R.S.E. Controversy, anytime something of a contentious nature is added to an article it must be written in a Neutral point of view and be source per WP:V,WP:CS and WP:BLP (Biographies of living persons), an example of a source would be like this cardplayer article about the topic at hand, remember to not give you own interpretation as this would be original research (see WP:OR) or the use of weasel words, please understand that controversy isn't forbidden but needs to be sourced and written in a encyclopedic way. and easy way to cite a source would be to use these citation templates or this reference generator tool ▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 07:48, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added a few sentences using the source you linked, which seems to be one of the few reliable sources covering this incident. We could always include specific quotations but I think that would just make the paragraph too bloated, especially considering there is only the one source. I think the actual broadcast can be cited as well for specific quotations if needed. --TM 03:52, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"retirement" self-challenge?[edit]

I wonder if his "challenge" in March 2009 should be mentioned here? See these video clips at PokerListings -- challenge: http://www.pokerlistings.com/tv/watch/scotty-nguyen-quitting-poker-659 , and follow-up: http://www.pokerlistings.com/tv/watch/scotty-nguyen-quitting-poker-follow-up-710 Good Luck Scotty, but I agree with Annie Duke, after all [quote]"As of 2009, his total live tournament winnings exceed $10,700,000.[8] Of those winnings, $4,727,717 have come at the WSOP..."[/quote] 199.214.4.12 (talk) 23:39, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
