merge tag[edit]

merge as per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/RulesStandards. Our intent is not to delete anyone's work or to minimize the importance of any article that already exists on the Wikipedia. Instead our goal is to tighten the information, to make it more relevant and useful for the general Wikipedian. This article will be absorbed in its entirety to the larger state Scouting article. The newer article will encompass OA lodges, Councils, early nonBSA Scouting organizations like Campfire or Woodcraft, Girl Scouting where applicable, and other ideas as they come up. If this page is merged, will it still be accessable as an independent page, or will it be merged into another article?

If it is merged into another section, I think that would be a good idea. But I am opposed to the text of this article being merged into another article.....

which merge are you talking about? And, sign your work. Chris 02:45, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose weak oppose a merge like this ends up with something akin to the Scouting in the District of Columbia, which is currently a complete mess. It appears that the Camp Coker page is FULL of information, even if it was whittled down to a more managable size (removing crufty information) it looks like it could work the text would dominate the Scouting in South Carolina article, which should be about Scouting in SC and not a huge repository for this camp site. So if someone comes up with a better summarized version of the camping page, it would fit right in. Radagast83 14:58, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
