Scunthorpe 1970's[edit]

When I had the doubtful privilege of living in the town in the 1970s, the station wasn't even on a bus route - typical British transport planning style.

But then this is the town with no parish church, a theatre you could fit in your front room, no amateur orchestra, a library that looks like a factory, (largely) closed industry and where women seem universally to be called 'Jean'. A town veritably urbs sine cultura. —Preceding unsigned comment added by T A Francis (talkcontribs) 20:18, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

North Lindsey Light Railway[edit]

The statement here is that the North Lindsey Light Railway went originally to West Halton. That railway's page says "The line opened in stages, Scunthorpe to Winterton in 1906, then on to Winteringham in 1907 and finally to Whitton in 1910." Which is right?
