Disputed Assertion
[edit]In the History section, it is stated that the area known as Seal Beach, prior to incorporation was known as Anaheim Landing,
Cite: USA Cities online states...
Seal Beach was first known as Bay City, but there was already a Bay City located in Northern California. When the time came to incorporate on 25 October 1915, the town was named Seal Beach.
Anaheim Landing
A Historical Landmark
Soon after the founding of the mother colony at Anaheim in 1857, Anaheim Landing was established as a port of entry for the Santa Ana Valley by the Anaheim Landing Co. despite the treacherous entrance conditions which caused several disasters. Regular coastwise trade was carried on for about fifteen years.
The incorporation date of Seal Beach: 25 October 1915
- Response: here is an 1875 image noting that the region was called "Anaheim Landing" on maps. Removing that it was ever called Anaheim Landing before the Bay City name (it's not clear when they started calling it that) isn't necessary, both can exist. --Bobak 20:19, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think that the difference is that Anaheim Landing was just a shallow area in Anaheim Bay used for landing goods intended for the mostly German farmers in the Anaheim area. The monument for Anaheim Landing is near the intersection of Seal Beach Blvd. and Electric Ave. It was only after the area was starting to be developed with housing that it became known as Bay City. There is probably an historical society in Seal Beach that could provide further details. BlankVerse 14:06, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Seal Beach.JPG
[edit]Image:Seal Beach.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Could someone who lives here take a photograph of the Salon Meritage and upload it to Commons? Thanks.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 09:32, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
- I took a photo and added it to 2011 Seal Beach shooting. 72Dino (talk) 16:40, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, that is very useful indeed. I did think about adding the booking photo, but following previous WP:NFCC#1 battles decided against it. If anyone has a photograph of Dekraai or the victims, please upload it to Commons.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 16:48, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
Saturn V
[edit]The history section should include info saying the 2nd stage of the Saturn V rocket was built in building on a corner of the navy base.
