Controversy

[edit]

"She also talks about Governor-General’s Award-nominated playwright Sean Harris Oliver – again, not named – who parted ways with Vancouver’s Hardline Productions last summer. It followed the posting of a video of Jordan Peterson to Facebook, along with controversial comments. After a lot of heated debate, he took the video down, she says, and asked the community to educate him. “He was eventually accused of extracting free emotional labour.”

@Smartse: There is [I found] at least one credible Canadian source that talks about it. It occurred when a series of other Vancouver based artists were being called out. [1] [2] [3]. Hardline is a relatively small company so understandably wasn't picked up. They did release a statement about the incident and when Harris resigned. Anyway, thought you'd want to know. @Mkdw: That source was published six months after I removed it from the page. I'd be fine with that being used for a sentence saying that he resigned from Hardline Productions after sharing a Jordan Peterson video, but there's not much else that can be supported by that source and AFAICT it is still the only source to mention it. Wasn’t here to say you made a bad call. Just noticed the saw the redaction and reporting what I found with the actioning admin. The Globe and Mail article would verify other controversial comments and debate. Again, wasn’t here to police or editorialize. Mkdw talk 13:40, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
