Having just watched on the news about Seascale, I myself am from Seascale, and couldn't agree more with peoples impressions of Seascale. It is full of people pretending to be posh, and busy bodies interfering in other peoples bussiness. They would rather spend money on a pointless castle and a warped pier than give do something for the children. There is nothing for the youngsters to do in Seascale, and the busy bodies wonder why.

I am also a resident of Seascale and couldn't agree more with the previous discussion - lots of teenagers hanging around with nothing to do! Agreed with the above points except that Seascale is a lovely little village with Sea friendly people and the pier was built to celebrate the jubilee.... Since we arrived in this lovely village we have met such lovely folk

If you realy have so little to do then become a busy body and complain complain, alternativley become a raving alcoholic and contribute to one of the busiest bottle bank in the UK , of to the club to get pissed ,bye !!!!!!!!!

New message - posted 03/03. As I am about to criticise Wikipedia, I doubt this will go live. Surely the idea of an encyclopedia is to give a factual account of a town, for example. And you say what the town has - not what it does not have.

For example, you might say "Whitehaven, which has a hospital". You would not - or should not - say "Gosforth, which does not have a hospital". It would be a pointless exercise.

All areas have their good and bad points - and people's tastes vary. Concerns about youths hanging around, for example, should be debated in the local press/ by community groups/ the local councils.

My message to Wikipedia is keep your nose out of other people's business. Yes, there's the free speech argument, I know. But free speech of a derogatory nature should be in a more controlled environment.

This site is also possibly a breeding ground for scamsters/ rogue callers. So do post too much information about a town's/ village's inhabitants for the sake of their safety. For example, saying "--- is a village in Wiltshire where everyone leaves their doors open" might lead to a crimewave in that village. And I am not suggesting that people in Seascale do this.

There are also a lot of people who put time and effort into improving a community. Silly comments undermine their hard work. The outcome of their hard work is unlikely to make everyone happy. Who wants a youth club next to their house, for example?

i think that the parish council need to put there foot down and get the bridels sorted out come on just whot is going on it is one big eyesore. whot is the point of spending our council tax on a new seat and a tree next to the eyesor only saescale parish council would do that so come on mrs eastwood and mr moor lets get seascale back to haw it was. i also see that this new housing estate was not on the news people in seascale are fed up with it is all whot the parish council want and not whote the people of seascale want.

As I live in Seascale I know that there is very little for younger people to do here except go to Mace and the post office to buy sweets! There a few play parks for toddlers and they have graffiti on them and it has been there for as long as i can remember. The concil should do something about this most definately. The new houses that have been built have also got graffiti on them and teenagers have no respect for them whatsoever. Windows have been smashed and the drainpipes have been torn down. They are clearly not favoured in our village. Although the village has quite alot of bad points there are great places for dog walkers to go with lots of places that are peaceful and quiet.

Edited. Page was edited as A595 is not a Truck route as written. It is not on the Highways Agency map of Trunk roads. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.211.34.38 (talk) 20:41, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
