Bin Jawad[edit]

BBC radio reported today that rebels from the East are massing tanks and troops at Bin Jawad to advance on Sirte. Presumably its on the BBC website too. should we take this as evidence the rebels hold Bin Jawad? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.81.65 (talk) 09:54, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this not on the navigation bar, and why is it missing in this article, since this after all will be an important battle. Btw., in time this has to be ranamed to something like "Battle of Sirte"--31.17.180.45 (talk) 11:34, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Move suggestion[edit]

I think that, to avoid confusion with the Battle of Sirte (2011) page, and considering the fact that this advance hasn't even made it to Sirte (that attack came from the west and south, by fighters based out of Misrata), this article should be moved to Gulf of Sidra offensive. -Kudzu1 (talk) 19:45, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support I think this makes logical sense. Jeancey (talk) 20:11, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rename and merge both article--ChronicalUsual (talk) 16:45, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rename, but don't merge. EkoGraf (talk) 21:14, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated?[edit]

Is it really outdated? I think that it should be referred to as over as of the beginning of the NTC advance into sirte, as the offensive in the general gulf region is over, and any non sirte related fighting since the battle began be put under an "Aftermath" section. The only way to update it as it stands now would be to just copy the Battle of Sirte article into this one, which I think is pointless. Just my two cents Jeancey (talk) 19:39, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sirte is the ultimate battle of the offensive, its primary objective. So, I disagree. -Kudzu1 (talk) 20:19, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
