[edit]

In my last edit, I changed the place names from their French forms (Tanananarive, Tamatave) - which had remained in official use until the late 1990s - to their current forms (Antananarivo, Toamasina). This is especially justifiable because the current forms are a return to the place names as they were prior to colonization, meaning these were the names of these locales at the time of the events described in this article. - Lemurbaby (talk) 13:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rainy season?

[edit]

In the section "The Expedition" it says The campaign was to take place during the rainy season, with disastrous consequences for the French expeditionary corps. However, the main campaign took place between May and September 1895, this is the dry season in Madagascar. -- Diorit (talk) 10:04, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
