See that stuff up above where it rates the article Start Class and in other ways C-? Why is that evaluation not dated? The article has been extensively revamped, while I can only assume that the grades were given for last year's work. If I can figure out how to delete it I will, to force a fresh evaluation. Here's the Plan

[edit]

I started fixing the History and it got too damn long. In fact, the history is told twice, like the Creation story in the Bible. LOL. I saw another town had a History article separate from the main town article. I wanna do that. Any objections? Going once. Going twice. WoodyinNYC (talk) 05:43, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How to Pronounce the Name

[edit]

Seguin (pronounced suh-GEEN)

Is that the G of "gill" or that of "gin" ?

G like "gill" HammerInPeace 22:05, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rhymes with 'between' and 'cuisine'. See also Si! Si! Seguin! (Need to learn how to do accent marks. LOL.) And so I'm wondering if a second correct pronunciation would be rendered see-GEEN? WoodyinNYC (talk) 12:42, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs sources

[edit]

I grew up in good 'ol Seguin, and the trivia stuff at the beginning of the article is true; however, it's unsourced. When I get a chance, I'll try and get some sources. Cap'n Walker 21:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, sourced better, removing the citations tag. I dumped the part about the low mosquito population, I couldn't find anything about that other than an unsubstantiated claim made on a realtor's website. If anyone can source it, please feel free to bring it back. Cap'n Walker 20:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added the stuff about the True Women novel and movie; I'm a little iffy on its inclusion, but I figured that a little shithouse town like Seguin (I can say that because I grew up there) being featured in a big-time novel and movie is notable. Cap'n Walker 21:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CAN WE REMOVE STALE STUFF, LIKE THE ABOVE ITEMS FROM 2007? WoodyinNYC (talk) 05:43, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The motto is "The Jewel of the Guadalupe" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.149.129.245 (talk) 19:11, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the mottos change every time the Chamber of Commerce gets a new honcho. LOL. The most current tagline is "There's A Story Here". WoodyinNYC (talk) 12:42, 29 August 2013 (UTC) Well, it happened again--as of 2016 the motto became "It's Real." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matriz (talkcontribs) 04:36, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously? I hope they didn't go through the trouble of trademarking that. Kuru (talk) 04:40, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
