talking clocks

The world first quartz talking clock (see there) was not made by Seiko in 1984. It was the Sharp Talking Time CT-660E (German issue CT-660G) from 1979! Seiko's PyramidTalk from 1984 was only a famous design object, but Sharp came 5 years earlier. See e.g. these 1970th Sharp patents:
