Surname

[edit]

The Turkish surname is originally Yıldırım rather than Yildirim, meaning Lightning in Turkish language. The page name must be changed to Selma Yıldırım because of that. --Comrade-yutyo (talk) 09:09, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Her name is spelled "Yildirim" by reliable sources (see all references in the article) and by the person herself (see official website). This is because she is Austrian, and the letter ı is not used in Austria. Wikipedia's naming conventions and manual of style follow the common usage in reliable sources and the person's own preference, therefore "Yildirim" is the spelling used in this article.
