HK_Sept13_protest_2.jpg was swapped back on wikimedia commons. The image copied over does not actually have the right license. Benjwong (talk) 03:17, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, yes...it looks like, while they're both from the same flickr set, the one Ohconfucius uploaded is tagged as non-commercial whereas the other one isn't. Strangely enough. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:23, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm sorry I missed the 'non-commercial' licence on the replacement image I uploaded. I just think the first image is crap, as it's of just a bunch of photographers, and could have been taken anywhere. I will remove it unless/until a better one is found. Reporters' assault[edit]

This is only a sideshow (although an important one), and I don't believe it serves any encyclopaedic purpose to have the names of all 8 (non-notable) journalists listed in the article, as WP is not the news, and not a directory. I have therefore removed them, as well as the Chinese language source made redundant in the removal. Ohconfucius (talk) 03:46, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How can a few journalist be taking a beating and their names not be pointed out? The article currently list out Li Zhi who doesn't even have any ties to the event other than getting dismissed. The 3 journalists are relevant. I would understand if you said the later 5 were not as famous. Benjwong (talk) 03:53, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the names are necessary. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 03:56, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That has to be your personal opinion. Li Zhi is sipping tea in the office and getting fired. He is more important than the 3 journalists in the front line? No possible way. Benjwong (talk) 03:58, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • What Li Zhi is doing now is not why he is notable. He is notable by virtue of his [former] positions. Whatever happens, I don't think the 8 journalists (in this context) will ever be notable, although the incident is notable (but fails the notability presumption in WP:N). I don't agree with the revert, but I'm not going to war over it. Let consensus prevail. Ohconfucius (talk) 04:09, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Meng Jianzhu[edit]

Always nice to read a bit of China Daily once in a while to regurgitate the slogans... Police Chief Meng Jianzhu: "The recent syringe attacks, which were premeditated, masterminded and conducted by law-breakers and instigated by ethnic separatist forces, were a continuation of the July 5 incident in the city" [1] Colipon+(Talk) 17:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
