Hyginus mentions "Septentriones" under the Lesser Bear, that is under Ursa Minor, not Ursa Major. That doesn't necessarily mean that this article is wrong, because the constellations tend to get the name from each other, so that besides mentioned as lesser and greater bear, they're mentioned as lesser and greater wain. It's quite possible that "septentriones" can refer to both lesser and greater bear/wain/whatever. Said: Rursus 18:13, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lesser wain seems more likely, because of its proximity to the celestial pole, thus leading actually to the north (note that the polar star was not in the position it has today). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.130.123.88 (talk) 00:09, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
