Cleanup concerns[edit]

I came across this article while researching contemporary Chilean authors. Even though this article is clearly written by Castillo himself, I found it interesting enough to check out some of his work on Amazon.com -- surprisingly, none of the book titles listed in this article are carried by Amazon.com. In fact, a search for 'Sergio Badilla,' 'Sergio Castillo,' and 'Sergio Badilla Castillo' comes up with nothing. Nor does this article's author deign to provide us with ISBNs for his book titles.

All this leads me to suspect something is up. I have to wonder whether this is a real person, and if he is, then perhaps he is using wikipedia for shameless self-promotion? Are his books even published?

I recommend we tag this article as violating Wikipedia's noteriety policy for biographies. --Michaelmussman (talk) 20:49, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I retrieved this article when it was dumped at random into the Blog article, created the page and tried to give it a basic Wikipedia format in the hope that the original author would improve it. I know nothing about this poet, however, so I can't do anything about the content. Since my original edit, it has been edited a few times by one anonymous editor, presumably the original author, perhaps Badilla Castillo himself, the net effect of which has been to add information but make the style worse (see the history). I've tried to restore some basic wiki conventions (an intro paragraph, sections) but I'm over my head regarding content and I have some serious concerns about notability, verifiability and prose quality. So I've added a cleanup tag in the hope that the article will get some help (I had a wikify tag up before, which was removed). Please help if you can. Dear 201.214.24.87, if you read this: please don't "unformat" the article again. · rodii · 03:12, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
