Reviewer: Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs) 07:19, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I will use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 11:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.
Immediate Failures
[edit]It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria
- No. Apart from the below. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)It contains copyright infringements
- Possible copyvio checking - On check, these seem like copying from wikipedia. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}).
- Quite a few [citation needed] and [better source needed] tags need replacing before I will continue the review. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)It is not stable due to edit warring on the page.
- No edit warring found Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Links
[edit]- [1] no dablinks Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:21, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- A couple dodgy links in checklinks require fixing. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:21, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Prose
[edit]Lede
[edit]known by the ring name Seth Rollins. He is currently signed to WWE,
- make into one sentence. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)- Lede doesn't need to be in chronological order, put his notable stuff first (his world title reigns etc) before his pre-WWE days. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- he became the first wrestler of Armenian descent to hold the title - is the note neccesary? Is this not adequately stated in the main body? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- He was the cover athlete for WWE 2K18.[7] - Source not mentioned. Should also spell out this is a video game. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
General prose
[edit]- Any reason why Gyxx is enbolded? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Direct names should be italicised (Ted Petty Invitational Tournament, Glory by Honor VI etc). Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- hanging Jay Briscoe from the rigging that had been used during the ladder match earlier that night. - Like a noose, or what? This seems like a radical statement and needs better explination and sourcing. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Black later made his ROH debut - in-ring début. Strictly speaking in a wrestling sense, he'd already débuted. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- attacked by - not a fan of this wording. It doesn't explain if this is kayfabe or not. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- on a bulging disc in his neck - Can we not just use the medical version? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- thereby depriving Strong of his championship chance in a singles match - this makes it sound like he chose the triple threat. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:38, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
WWE
[edit]- Evan Bourne convinced him to join WWE – Based on unreliable source. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:38, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- "On September 14, Lopez (as Tyler Black)" as Tyler Black has been used interchangably with the subjects last name. Should be uniform (Or, at least until the commonname is used). Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Rollins then faced Hunico on November 4 in the first ever FCW 15 match under 15-minute Iron Man rules – This is really poorly explained. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Is Calvin Raines notable? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- and the match was sent into sudden death rules, - reword. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- the episode of the match aired on December 12 due to tape delay - Seems irrelevent. He didn't lose or win the title. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- emerged from the crowd to attack Punk's adversaries.[69][70][71][72] - WP:REFBOMB. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- The Shield's unpinned/unsubmitted streak in televised six-man tag team matches ended at the hands of Team Hell No and Randy Orton when Bryan made Rollins submit - Reword to first loss by fall. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Chief operating officer (COO) - COO shouldn't be used again in context in article, so doesn't need shortening. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- earned their jobs back - reclaimed thier jobs. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- Wikilink Royal Rumble match Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- The Shield then feuded with Triple H, the COO of WWE and leader of The Authority, - this was already noted above. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- The Shield defeated Evolution at Extreme Rules and again at Payback in a No Holds Barred elimination match, in which all members of The Shield survived - "Survived" makes them seem like everyone else died. Reword to "were not eliminated", or similar. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:22, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
- (2014–2015)
- On the June 2 episode of Raw, after Batista left Evolution and WWE,[108] Triple H revealed his "plan B", which turned out to be Rollins attacking Ambrose and Reigns to rejoin The Authority and turn heel again. - This isn't the best sentence. If he left WWE, he must have left the stable. The "plan B" is irrelevant. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
Rollins later explained his actions by stating that The Shield would not be a success without him and Ambrose and Reigns were not his brothers, like they claimed, but business partners to help him move up in WWE.
Is this a quote or not? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)In September, Rollins began feuding with Roman Reigns and a match between the two was set up for Night of Champions, but Reigns developed a legitimate incarcerated hernia which required surgery prior to the event,[117] resulting in Rollins being declared the winner via forfeit, before being attacked by a returning Ambrose.
- At no point is it mentioned that Ambrose left TV, so returning is pointless. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)Orton onto the steel ring steps, putting him out of action
- Curb stomp is used quite a bit. This is very in-universe, as is "putting him out of action". Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)- in which Rollins was the sole survivor and the last man eliminated by Dolph Ziggler, resulting in The Authority being ousted from control of WWE. - how was Rollins the sole survivor? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- thus turning it into a triple threat match - this isn't exactly a therefor statement. I doubt non-wrestling fans would know this is how this would work. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- This made Rollins the first man to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania and during a title match - This should have the word "both" in there somewhere, these are two different statements. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
Kane as the gatekeeper
- what? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)- Rollins then re-ignited his feud with John Cena[139] - not sure what the statement this citation is trying to corroborate. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- On October 25 at Hell in a Cell, Rollins successfully defended the championship against "Demon" Kane and per the match stipulation, Kane was fired as Director of Operations.[143] - Nowhere does this explain what demon Kane is. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Too much "thus" Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- (2016–2017)
- Overall, too many - hit with this finisher. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- The following night on Raw, Rollins addressed the fans and said that he did not need anyone on his side, - Is this a quote? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- critics wondered if WWE was "leaving money on the table"[according to whom?] Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- (fans were cheering Rollins and booing Reigns) - explination isn't neccesary. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- clean loss is jargon Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- You also don't give someone a loss.Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Sometimes the name of the event isn't neccesary. "in matches against Ambrose on both Raw and SmackDown before Battleground" - Just say twice. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Draft should be explained, it's not a universal concept. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- "calling out" isn't great wording. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- (2017–2018)
- several weeks,[181][182][183][184][185] - Refbomb
I'll look at more when/if the above is fixed. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Comments
[edit]- Automated note - If you fancy returning the favour, I have outstanding GA nominations that require reviewing at WP:GAN. I'd be very grateful if you were to complete one of these, however it's definately not manditory. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 07:17, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ducktech89 there is quite a bit above. I've nearly completed, but there is things that really need addressing. Could you take a look and make the changes? If not, I'll have to fail this one, there's quite a few issues, specifically WP:INUNIVERSE, bad wording and attribution of quotes. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:42, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- after 10 days without a response, I'll have to fail this one. It's not in the right state yet, and needs lots more work to pass.
