I want to mention that the word "shahbanou" doesn't mean "empress" oder "ruler" in Persian, the accurate translation is "the lady of the Shah", it's the same like the function of an empress consort! Her Majesty Pourandokht (Pourandokht-e Sassani) and ohter Persian empresses used the title "Shahrbanou" , which basically means "the lady of the city/empire".
I want to point out that I believe that the correct spelling of Shahbanu is Shahbānū. Perhaps the article title should use this spelling? pconlon13:59, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
