Photo?

[edit]

Why is there no photo of him? I'm sure under fair use we could use one. Cs302b (talk) 00:28, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Living person, so it would be an easy fair-use replaceable argument. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 06:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just google on "Islamic Rage Boy". He has a worldwide cult following. Tons of pix and comic Photoshops. Tons. LDH (talk) 07:29, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is a photo of him which I obtained written permission from the copyright holder to put on this page, but some pedantic dick removed it.

Professional protester?

[edit]

This article claims that Bhat is a 'professional protester'. It's not clear what that means - does it mean he was getting paid to take part in protests? Is there any evidence for this allegation? If not, it should be removed per WP:BLP. Robofish (talk) 21:06, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's a sloppy wording that actually turns what Bhat does upside-down. No matter what nation was being reported on, newspapers showing demonstrations that supposedly represented the "Muslim street" always managed to pick this guy. Apparently, he followed journalists around, and so matched what the biased journalists wanted to find, they also used his picture, without realizing it was the same guy, every time. 75.148.21.9 (talk) 21:32, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shakeel BhatIslamic Rage Boy –. Nobody knows the name Shakeel Bhat. "Islamic Rage Boy" is the common name. everybody searches for that. 117.204.83.105 (talk) 02:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC) Support Although I must say that the title is the least of the problems with this article. The reason he is notable is because he kept showing up in media images of supposedly random groups of protestors. He travelled from one protest to another and his striking facial features got photographed, as you can see here. Without an image, the whole thing doesn't make much sense. Confirmation

[edit]

Is there any independent confirmation of the claim that his sister was killed by Indian authorities? If not, an "allegedly" would add to the article's neutrality. --Kraligor (talk) 09:26, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Racism?

[edit]

Should we mention that bloggers are being used in a racist way when they call him Islamic Rage Boy. 66.36.137.163 (talk) 16:41, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, because it's wrong. The purpose of the bloggers' labelling of him is to point out the way that journalists worked with him to make sure they always had an exploitative photo to represent "Islamic rage." One single activist was used again and again and again to supposedly represent the entirety of the Islamic world. 67.86.165.207 (talk) 21:45, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
