Title needs to be revised to "Shalalth, British Columbia" but I didn't know how to do that. Revision of text coming soon.

Added Category:First Nations reserves in British Columbia, which in this case doesn't replace Communities in British Columbia as there is a non-native community at Shalalth; ideally the Tsalalh page could be the reserve, Shalalth the collective; other cases in the area will see N'quatqua as a reserve listing vs D'Arcy as a community listing; similarly with Fountain/Xa'xlip and Pavilion/TskwaylaxwSkookum1 22:57, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Population
[edit]Statistics Canada 2001 Census shows a population of 174 for the reserve in 2001. There might beother numbers at BC Stats. Luigizanasi 15:44, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Very curious; there's at least that many youth/children in the Seton Lake Indian Band, I'll see what their INAC page says and get back here; their reserves inclucde Necait/Nkait and.....another Slosh IR, but not 1A (which is the mountaisde above Slosh 1 and is uninhabited); myself I thought the band population was in the 500-700 range, with about half living off-reserve (usually Vancouver or Lillooet). It's also worth noting that the non-Fn population of Slosh 1, which includes the Bridge River Townsite (South Shalalth), is counted separately in Electoral Area B; this is a good example of why electoral areas are not useful in determining population figures for geographic reginos; all IRs within their boundaries are enumerated separately. I'm surprised the Electoral ARea only has 500-odd residents, though, but I guess seasonal residents at Seton Portage and Gun Lake etc aren't counted.....Skookum1 (talk) 20:02, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
