The replacement station was not where the Allaben station was. The masonry Allaben station was across the Esopus from where the Shandaken town hall is today. The bridge abutments are still visible. The 1899 station replaced both the Allaben station and the small Shandaken depot that was close to the parking lot just after NY 28 crosses the Esopus today.
