Other fictional Shanes[edit]

There's a Shane Wolfe in the movie The Pacifier (starring Vin Diesel). I'm not confident about editing something like that in, and I'm not sure if it's major enough to be included. The Pacifier has a page here but Shane Wolfe doesn't. --Tirsden (talk) 03:17, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shane as the only name[edit]

I know of one person who went only by "Shane" as a stage name, and I suspect there have been others. The one I am thinking of was a disk jockey on various radio stations in Buffalo, New York, in the 1970s. I never knew his real name. Typofixer76 (talk) 11:49, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not correct[edit]

My mother was an Ulster Woman and assured me that the name is NOT Sean (which is a Gaelicised John).

The Irish word (Gaelic) for Shane is Seadhain and originates in Scotland.

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, advice from family and friends counts as "original research" and is not sufficient to include in Wikipedia.
