English Name?

[edit]

Is the English name for this scholar "Tabarsi" or "Tabrisi"..?

Shaykh al-Tabarsi can also refer to:

  • Abu Mansoor Ahmad ibn Ali al-Tabarsi - author of al-Ihtijaj (~600 AH)
  • Husayn ibn Muhammad Taqi al-Nuri al-Tabarsi - author of Mustadrak al-Wasa'il (1254/1838 - 1320/1902)

According to the Arabic spelling of his name, it is Tabarsi (الطبرسي). Xareen (talk) 13:00, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Other famous Tabarsi

[edit]

There are a number of famous Tabarsi in the Islamic history apart from the subject of this page → Abu Ali al-Fadl ibn al-Hasan al-Tabarasi [the author of the famous Tafsir Majma al Bayan].

I am providing a list of name of people who were named Tabarsi to avoid future confusions.

- al-Hajj Mirza Husayn ibn Muhammad Taqi al-Nuri al-Tabarasi (d. 1320)

- Abu Mansoor Ahmad ibn Ali al-Tabarasi

- Hasan ibn al Fadl ibn Hasan al-Tabarasi [the author of Mishkat al Anwar]. (also known as Ali al-Tabarasi hence his father's kunya in 'Abu Ali'). Xareen (talk) 18:03, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
