Past tense in intro

[edit]

The intro says that shear legs "were used by sailboats and dockyards for tasks such as lifting masts and heavier parts of the rigging on board". Is there a reason this is in the past tense? If they are no longer used, this should be mentioned explicitly along with the reason why. 67.188.230.128 (talk) 05:42, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
