I hear about the bombing that they did but nobody says yes or no for sure. Could somebody find that out for me?
My name is Patrick Kane. One of my relatives, Elton M. Kane, was the pilot who flew the plane for Bernie & Carl Shelton (and Mayor Joe Adams)over the Birger "roadhouse" on November 11, 1926. Elton Kane was paid $1,000.00 and was given an automobile for flying the men over the house. I have the newspaper clippings if you would like a copy of them. My name is Gary l. Galloway. My mother is Edna E. (Shelton) Galloway. She was born in Energy Il.(Williamson Co.) my grandfather, Joesph Shelton, said to be from Tenn. My grandmother was Ada (Dixon) Shelton. Also, said to be from Tenn. They lived in Westfrankfort Il. (Franklyn Co.) where I was born (1945). It has been said that the Shelton brothers were 2nd or 3rd counsins to my mother. It was also said the Shelton brothers stayed with my Grandmother on several occasions. My grandmother was a Bootlegger (beer) in the 1920,s (Westfrankfort). If you have any additional information, I would appreciate hearing it.
