Which license?

[edit]

Under which license is Shenzhen I/O released? Is it free software? Mcl2 (talk) 17:29, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's commercial software. --Masem (t) 17:31, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But which license is used? (Free-Libre / Open Source Software (FLOSS) is Commercial Software) Mcl2 (talk) 17:01, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's not an open-source program, there is zero ability to reuse any parts of the game as bounded by standard copyright laws. --Masem (t) 17:11, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shenzhen Longteng Electronics isn't fictional

[edit]

They're listed on pcbdirectory, and have a website in 13 different languages (though, curiously, not Chinese). A search for '龍騰電子科技', which is Google Translate's translation of Longteng Electronic Technology, finds the phrase in 3 million Chinese web pages. Their Chinese website is listed by FOBShanghai as http://www.ltpcb.com.cn/, which is inaccessible to me in the US; but WHOIS says it's owned by 湖北龙腾电子科技股份有限公司, which Google Translate translates as "Hubei Longteng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd."
