Converting to neighbourhood article

[edit]

Shepard has been officially annexed by Calgary. I'm in the process now of converting the article to conform with other Calgary neighbourhood articles. 68.146.47.196 21:02, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article move, removal from Alberta Wikiproject

[edit]

I have moved this article from "Shepard, Alberta" to "Shepard, Calgary" to reflect the fact it is now part of Calgary and to be consistent with the other neighbourhood articles on Calgary. Also, since none of the neighborhood articles belong to the Alberta WikiProject, in order to be consistent I've removed this article from that project. If anyone has a strong objection to my doing so, Please feel free to put it back. 23skidoo 20:35, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Since the above was posted, changes to the Alberta Wikiproject have resulted in the Calgary neighbourhood articles falling under its purview, so it has been put back into the project. 23skidoo (talk) 15:08, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not officially a neighbourhood

[edit]

It appears the City of Calgary does not officially recognize the former Hamlet of Shepard as an official neighbourhood (or community, which is the term Calgary uses in place of neighbourhood). A listing of all official communities is located here within the Community Legend section on pages 15-20. A key word search for Shepard results in two hits within this section – East Shepard Industrial and Shepard Industrial. There are no hits for Shepard on its own. Therefore, although annexed by Calgary, Shepard is not an official neighbourhood according to the City of Calgary. This article needs to be fixed as a result. If the article is revised such that it is only about the former hamlet, then a potential move back to Shepard, Alberta should be discussed. Hwy43 (talk) 18:24, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As Calgary still does not yet recognize Shepard as its own neighbourhood, I think it is time to revert the previously undiscussed move and return it to Shepard, Alberta. Hwy43 (talk) 05:29, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, Calgary still doesn't recognize it, another census, and Sherpard is only mentioned as an industrial area. 117Avenue (talk) 07:10, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Did you mean to write "Yes, Calgary still doesn't recognize it..."? With the current "No...", the tone of the above seems to conflict with the edit summaries indicating a yes to the move. Please confirm a yes or no to the move. Thanks, Hwy43 (talk) 09:41, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I chose the negative because Calgary doesn't recognize it. The tone is lost in the writing. I am agreeing to move. 117Avenue (talk) 03:15, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll request a move back over the redirect via WP:RM/TR. Hwy43 (talk) 05:24, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
