Rainbow sherbet doesn't seems independently notable; best put here. Klbrain (talk) 14:33, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should include more historical context.

[edit]

This article states that sherbet is from North America, which is false. The dessert has a long history; its precursor is from the Middle East. From there, it evolved slowly in the Muslim world and Europe, ending up close to its modern form even before North America even got dairy products. Either more historical content needs to be added, or the article needs to be changed slightly to at least correctly reflect that sherbet is not North American. If you can provide a source, I can implement it for you. ✶Quxyz 14:21, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Sherbet section of The Oxford Companion to Sugar and Sweets mentions its origin.

I have implemented some details from the source provided. However, I did not include everything to make sure the topic stays consistent; the article describes the frozen dessert, not the drink. ✶Quxyz 17:43, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
