Birth Year confusions
[edit]@Cyphoidbomb: Sir, it seems we are at it again. According to Mid Day, Amar Ujala, Jan Satta, Dainik Jagran, OrissapOST sources, her year of birth is 1969. But according to Free Press Journal, her birth year is 1973. Do we have to make arrangements similar to all those celeb articles like Disha Patani, Anas Rashid, etc we did before? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:36, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk: Unless there's some way to discern for sure whether one date is correct or not, like one of the sisters calling the other her elder or something, then yeah, perhaps we should. I didn't remember the other issue because none of these people stay in my head. I saw someone at the sister's article change younger to elder and then started looking into this subject's DOB. Do whatever you think is necessary. I'm just here to clean up. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 08:39, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: That very IP also changed the year of birth of this BLP. It is making me think that 1969 may be correct. In this scenario, I'll try to find something concrete about who's older. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:51, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: I came across two Free Press Journal sources [1] [2] which mention the subject to be the elder sister and also mention the DoB of the other sister as 1972. It makes the 1973 year of birth of the subject sourced by the other Free Press Journal ref kinda unreliable. Came across another Zee News Marathi source whihc also mentions 1969. In light of majority of the sources in support of 1969, I feel like we should only mention her year of birth as 1969 instead of a range, unless someone can come up with something else. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:45, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- Couldn't find any source that says the subject was born in 1973 apart from the FPJ one. I'm restoring 1969 because of overwhelming number of sources supporting the year and the fact that the subject is the older sister. Can have a range if more reliable sources support the the other year. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:51, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Cyphoidbomb Funny how that many sources list her as the older sister when according to this, the subject is the younger sister. I'm going to change that. Thanks to the IP. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:19, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk: Hey there, can you please give an approximate time stamp where it says that the subject is younger? Also, if it's not in English, can you clarify what is said? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 08:00, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Cyphoidbomb It starts at 9.22-9.23 where the host asks Shilpa (the article subject, who's on phone) "Shilpa, aap Namrata ki chhoti behn hain right?"; translation → "Shilpa, you are the younger sister of Namrata right". To which she agrees. The host then asks whether Namrata was bossy? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:19, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Fantastic, thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 08:35, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
