Sim (Korean name)Shim (Korean name) — Every person or other use of the name in the body of the article is spelled "Shim." Propaniac (talk) 20:01, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral The evidence for this is not so straightforward as the nominator claims. Many Wikipedia articles spell it Sim, like the bunch I just added to the article. English editions of major Korean newspapers newspapers (e.g. Chosun Ilbo chosun.com, Korea Herald koreaherald.co.kr. and Joongang Ilbo joins.com) show hundreds of usages of both "Sim" and "Shim", based on a Google search; it's hard to come up with an exact ratio, because of confounding terms like "SIM card", "The Sims", etc. (if you subtract too many things out, then Google's estimate of the number of hits goes nuts), but many of these are clearly people surnamed Sim. And the spelling in both Korean standard romanisations is "Sim", not "Shim". cab (talk) 10:07, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Opppose Many people with the surname spell their English name as "Sim" as well. Moreover, the current title is a correct Romanization.--Caspian blue 12:36, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
