Change name[edit]

Shinbashi Station to Shimbashi Station.

I would like to make the recommendation to change the current: "Shinbashi Station (新橋駅 -eki), alternatively spelled Shimbashi" to say: "Shimbashi Station (新橋駅 -eki), alternatively spelled Shinbashi"

and move the page to Shimbashi Station.

All of the railroad companies, East Japan Railways, Tokyo Metro, Toei and the Yurikamome, list the spelling as Shimbashi (m) instead of the (n) spelling for the station name.

So based on that its the offical romanization of the station name and the most popular version used, I would recommend the page be changed. A google search for Shimbashi Station yeilded more results, than the search for Shinbashi Station (which btw yeilded many pages that were copied from Wikipedia). That along with what I mentioned that four independent train companies use the (m) spelling on official maps and station signs, I think the page needs to be changed. I get 20k vs 12k Ghits for "Shimbashi Station" vs "Shinbashi Station". The MoS already allows for m when it is official, so I'd agree with the change, and also reconfiguring the redirects so the article title is Shimbashi Station, and Shinbashi Station would redirect there. Precedents already exist, such as Nihombashi Station in Tokyo, and Namba Station which is mentioned on the MoS as well. Neier 00:24, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
