This article was flagged for deletion as non-notable. But it is a legitimate (if minor) academic prize, and worth keeping if only for the relation to Shinmura, who was a very notable figure in Japanese linguistics. Also, I think it is worth keeping because someday, someone will Google this prize because it appears in the list of honors section of a recipient's biography. Thank you for your support to this article. this prize is less known in English world, but, surely awarded to great academic contributions. I can't show how the recipient are great with English sources, but when you can read French, we can find the Hobogirin, the French Encyclopedia of Buddhism, were mentioned as awardee [1] [2].
