I'll review this article shortly. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 04:08, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for taking this up! I will not be available to address any potential feedback from this evening until about Monday, so don't be alarmed if my response is somewhat late :) Best, Toдor Boжinov 08:42, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's no problem. I'll be busy this weekend so Monday's fine. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 21:22, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the issues I found:

  • Since the death date is before either 1308 or 1313 per the sources, couldn't it just say before 1313? That would of course include 1308 naturally. If that sounds like it's creating history then nevermind, since I understand what it's written as is.
  • "known collectively as the Shishman dynasty, would rule the Second Bulgarian Empire" ruled the Second.. sounds a bit better to me.

Those are the only couple issues I found, it was quite easy to read given the age and period of the subject. I'll put the article on hold and pass when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 21:22, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments! About the year of death: I'd rather leave it this way because the sources state it differently and I think it would be better if we have both opinions listed. I agree with your second comment and I've edited the wording accordingly. Best, Toдor Boжinov 07:22, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I have no further issues, so I'll pass the article as a GA. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:09, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of Shishman[edit]

What does Shishman mean? It's a Bulgarian name of Slavic origins?--77.195.181.252 (talk) 22:08, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's most likely a Turkic name of Cuman origin, compare with Turkish şişman. Toдor Boжinov 15:26, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thanks for your comments. Şişman was probably born into a Cuman family.--77.195.181.252 (talk) 19:03, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
