Spelling

[edit]

I've standardized the spelling to sruti (there were three or four different spellings in use in the article), since this is the article's name, and also matches the related sruti article. If you want to change this, be consistent and also move the article to the new name. -- Ferdinand Pienaar 06:08, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Electronic

[edit]

About sruti as provided by electronic means vs. real tanpura's, please read the relevant article at: www.martinspaink.mimemo.net {{subst:UnsignedISP|81.58.50.218|12:26, 8 July 2005}}

Shruti box

[edit]

There is an article Shruti box. Isn't that the same thing? --195.3.97.222 09:15, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sruti box and Shruti box have been merged. Hyacinth (talk) 23:04, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pitch

[edit]

Indian violins, for example, are tuned to whatever the pitch of the shruti box is. So what is the maximum possible range? Fuficius Fango (talk) 13:54, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

More explanation

[edit]

What notes does Shruti box produce for those not familiar with Indian music, the one I heard sounded like a major fifth??? I know pitch isn't absolute in Indian music so what adjustment is there? Stub Mandrel (talk) 18:45, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
