Thought I would have a go at cleaning up the text, I put some back on the ethnic makeup of the school that seems to have gone missing a few edits ago. Nice to see some good referencing in the article. Terri G 19:12, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

can i ask who this is as some of the information on this page about sidney stringer school is incorrect as i am currently a pupil at the school, the was not painted red for world AIDS day

If you are sure that this is a mistake please correct it. Snowman 18:21, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems to me very poor with some clearly biased (and out of date) information about the Academy (e.g. the comment on uniform!) and almost no information about this school's important history as a community college / first black headteacher etc. I don't know a great deal about it but I would appreciate someone who does making this a better page. Yes, very clear there is some bias in the writing of this article, was probably also written by another SSA student, I'm going to try and make it more neutral. I'm just a student here also, I don't know ALL the history behind the school. LucasImpulse (talk) 10:35, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2020 Destubathon

[edit]

Every paragraph is referenced. All the self promotional stuff has been cut. Correct Copyright statement in place. There are many tasks left open. My prose style is poor- some of the kiddy work needs checking too. Thank you for trying I ve kept most that I could. I want details of the architecture of the 1972 building and the new build- Seee what we got for the Abraham Moss Centre. I want details of the philosophy of the Community College- and that mean references too. I can still see traces of 1970s Resource Based Learning, and open areas cross curricular work. Re need Results presented in a balanced way- more Keir Starmer than Trump! If you have got something to add- but you are just not sure- write here on the talkpage first. Staff at the school- if you want to use Wikipedia editing with your students- talk to us. If you want your students to upload pictures for a portfolio of the school - great. Again talk to us - and we can put together s scheme. ClemRutter (talk) 20:16, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can thank me for removing their self-promo copy-paste in 2019. LucasImpulse (talk) 08:08, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2020 Structuring

[edit]

There were three community colleges Sidney Stringer, Stantonbury Campus, and the Abraham Moss Community School. it is worth looking at these pages for a bit of inspiration. The SS website is packed with detail so the first stage of a cleanup is to add some structure- then to cull each paragraph that is unreferenced or off-focus. This is a important school and worth the effort. Ofsted agrees. ClemRutter (talk) 22:18, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2021 - School has undergone quite a few changes

[edit]

Horizontal tutor groups are replacement for vertical, the school's technology officer has released a new website that has broken all of our links to sidneystringeracademy.org.uk, and even sent some links missing. And by the way, in the Academics tab, what even are knowledge organisers? If they're used, what do they do? As of writing I am a 16+ student in this school, I am ensuring there is no bias in what I write, and trying my best to cite sources for what I say. - 08:15, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Okay I think every SSA link is fixed to its new page, and some grammar fixed, more correct info relevant to the school today. I can't find that PDF that talks about horizontal tutor grouping like the one that used to exist for vertical tutor grouping, but I am 100% certain that this is how the tutor group system works for Year 7 to 11. - 9:47, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

The changes you have made to Vertical tutor groups does need to have a strong reference, or must be reverted as the school prospectus still makes a feature of the vertical tutor group, and at WP we only report verifyable infomation. Thank you for use the talk page system- but life is easier if you get a username- just so we can talk to you! Please hang around and help us with other Coventry articles, using your local knowledge and editing skills. You may be interested in this: Wikipedia:GLAM/Coventry University/Coventrypedia which is happening at the moment- it is my aim to improve several other CV academies- and get them to the same stage as this. I do not understand why Wikipedia did not stick my username here when I edited on the device. Maybe it was user error on my behalf. I am LucasImpulse. Sorry for the confusion. Assume all changes by user at 08:15, 15 April 2021 (UTC) and 9:47, 15 April 2021 (UTC) to be me. I have a school email I can hand out to verify I am a student at said location. But thank you for inviting me to assist with local info regardless! LucasImpulse (talk) 10:46, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I found an abandoned "latest newsletter" link on the page, of August 2020[1]. I'm going to add it to the Horizontal Tutor group change as proof. It is genuine because Andrew Walls, the technology officer, is the file owner. Also, if you go onto SSA's website, go to About Us, and then Latest Newsletter, therein is the same link.LucasImpulse (talk) 12:06, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Add A Fact: "Sidney Stringer becomes lead academy"

[edit]

I found a fact that might belong in this article. See the quote below

The school was originally a sponsored academy but in 2014 following an Ofsted inspection which judged the academy to be outstanding we became a sponsor in our own right. Sidney Stringer is now the lead school in the Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust

The fact comes from the following source:

https://www.sidneystringeracademy.org.uk/

Here is a wikitext snippet to use as a reference:

Probably not the best source as it is self published not a third party source. Keith D (talk) 20:04, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
