Title[edit]

Looking at the template in use on all the articles, which I've reproduced to the right, it seems fairly consistent with the current articles. Unless of course they are all merged into a larger article, something like:

Ramadan massacre and Deir ez-Zor[edit]

It seems this is a WP:SYNTH to include Deir ez-Zor within this article and limit it to just August 01st Hama events. The issue is supposed to be the blockade of Hama city ("Siege of Hama" per [1]) for the last month and a half [2]. The siege currently escalated into the ongoing massacre, but the "Ramadan massacre" is a sub event of the prolonging Hama blockade. We can split "Ramadan massacre" into a sub-article, but that is not the main issue here. Here are sources on the Siege of Hama:

Free Syrian Army[edit]

Come on people, it's december now and the Free Syrian Army is now operating in Hama, Ambushing goverment troops that are shooting the unarmed demonstrators. Scope of this article[edit]

It needs to be made clear what this article is about.
Is it about Hama city only or is it about Hama Governorate?
Is it about all protests and violence since the beginning or is it only about clashes between the SA & FSA?

I agree, there is a lot of confusion in Syria related articles between governorates and their capital cities. However, i think that instead of removing the irelevant info to be moved into other articles. "Siege" in general is a siege of a city, not a huge province.

This article should concentrate on the July-August 2011 siege of Hama, the rest is pretty much detouched from the issue in time and place. We should split one or several articles. Ideas?Greyshark09 (talk) 11:25, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, the article needs to be rewritten to focus on the event from July to August of last year, which has ended. And maybe a new article started up to cover the wider events in the province that are happening right now. EkoGraf (talk) 03:17, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Split[edit]

I request quest that we split this page into Siege of Hama (2011), and 2011 - 2012 Hama Province Clashes. This would fit in with this article now focusing on 2011 siege. Naming it Hama Province clashes would cover Hama city and other Hama province cities like Halfaya, Tayyibat al Imam, and Qallat al Madiq. Please vote on this below. UN Resolution[edit]

I do not find any resolution mentioned in the article. It says: "UN The Security Council passed a resolution that "condemns widespread violations of human rights and the use of force against civilians by the Syrian authorities." on 4 August."
