Dabs

[edit]

Re adding translations into a dab page, see User talk:Widefox#Signalberg. User:Bermicourt we don't link to dab pages [1]. I'm confused, this dab had a dict def translation which was converted to wikt links. How does it help to remove them, then put the dict def in an article and link to the dab? The link at Signalberg (Damme) was an error and I've removed it - gosh, you must be stalking me, is this really that important? As far as this dab page is concerned, I agree with at least one other editor that we should explain the term (i.e. that it's German for "beacon hill") and not point to two irrelevant words at wikt that don't help the reader. But rather than engaging in what looks like becoming an edit war, I'm off to do something more productive. --Bermicourt (talk) 12:25, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I edited the Wiktionary entry to give the etymology of Berg Siuenti (talk) 13:12, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, upper or lowercase wikt seems OK, avoids WP:DABDIC. I've done this on other dabs, but not sure how common it is. Bermicourt if you check my edits, I've been cleaning up the dabs (where I normally check articles too) re Wikipedia talk:Set_index_articles, where the example SIA does have more info.
