Peer review comments

[edit]

I haven't read through the article in detail, but here are some comments at first glance.

  1. Check out the WP:STYLE.
  2. There is no dearth of images in the article, which is good. However, the panorama pic at the beginning, can be moved somewhere down below in the article. Also, the size of the image needs to be reduced to fit in the page. Also, as there are enough images for the article, the one about the DNA was moved to the relevant paragraph.can be removed, particularly because it is not directly relevant to this article.
  3. ""Only An Axe Away" is a well-researched film documentary on the struggle to preserve the Silent Valley. The film shares the anxiety of the people of Kerala about the future of the Silent Valley. Producer: Third Eye Communications, Director: P. Baburaj and C. Saratchandran, Malayalam/40min/2004/DV [13]." This part can probably be moved to the new article↓a new section called Documentaries or smth.. just my opinion.
  4. Also, the history section appears a tad too long. Maybe a sub-section seperate article about "Save Silent Valley" the debate which this can link to. can be created? --Madhu 17:26, 25 March 2007 (UTC). agreed. I'm thinking about just leaving one consise para on the topic.-Marcus 09:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Silent Valley Core and Buffer Zones.jpg

[edit]

Image:Silent Valley Core and Buffer Zones.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hindu legend?

[edit]

The source given for the Hindu legend is a mail group archive which is far from a reliable source. Anyone else can set up another mail group and put forward a Muslim or Christian legend. So please give reference from some published books written by experts in the subject. Or I will be tempted to remove the above said notation. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.0.9.165 (talk) 05:02, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
