Curing Process

[edit]

'A catalyst is required for this condensation process.'

Is this correct? I've had clear SM polymer cure with humidity alone. Beingsshepherd (talk) 16:56, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

These answers are both correct. SMP polymer require moisture to cure, however, the catalyst is needed to make the curing process happen in a timely manner (in the order or days with a catalyst, or in the order of weeks without a catalyst). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.177.197.118 (talk) 06:23, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Description seems to be too narrow

[edit]

According to http://poly-wall.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Polywall-White-Paper-STPE.pdf "There are two main types of hybrid sealants: silyl-modified polyethers (known as MS polymers) and silyl-modified polyurethanes (known as SPUR polymers)." The description of the curing process in this article only appears to describe MS polymers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.97.62.77 (talk) 16:52, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
