Suggested Changes

IMO, comments on pollution in the Thames and the death of Princess Alice are not relevant. Would anyone object to removal?

On the other hand, it was more than a rumor that Ms. Stride claimed to have lost hubby and children on this ship. Frank Spiering, in Prince Jack (NY: Doubleday, 1978), page 66, attests to the claim. She said that John Stride and two of their nine children drowned, whereas Spiering's research indicated that they never had any children.

In Ripper circles, the murders of Elizabeth Stride and Martha Eddowes constitute the "Double Event" of 30 Sep 1888, but that is surely "thread creep."

In regard to Frank Spiering, he's considered fairly unreliable by most scholars, however other sources back up this particular point. Also, it's Catharine (sic) Eddowes, not Martha (don't know where you got THAT from). CFLeon (talk) 22:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
