Mother Anne

[edit]

The History of Parliament says of her "Anne, da. and h. of Robert Caudron of Great Hale, Lincs."[1] While HoP is a high quality source, Debrett[2] says "Anne, only surviving child of William Lomax of New Sleaford, esq. (by Anne, da. and at length h. of Robert Caudron, of Great Hale, co. Lincoln, esq., by Jane his wife, da. of Sir Charles Dymoke, of Scrivelsby, knt., champion of England)". In other words, HoP may have skipped a generation from Anne to Anne.

There is a Lomax reference that seems to help.[3] It gives:

Dr. William Lomax I (c.1703-1761), married Ann Cawdron (d.1736) daughter of Robert Cawdron of Hale

There are four children mentioned, Anne (b.c.1727), Jane (b.c.1729), Eleanor (b.c.1731), Dr. William Lomax II (b.c.1733). Of these, it fits to say Anne married 1756 to Benjamin Cooper.

Dr. William Lomax I remarried after Anne Caudron's death in 1736(?) and had two further children James and Joseph.

Not clear how Elizabeth Moore's Lomax husband might fit in. Charles Matthews (talk) 07:27, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
