Release Date

[edit]

Someone needs to confirm the release date that is in the article. FortWhatever (talk) 01:29, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard the developers state again and again they're not going to "ship it until it's ready." (Most notably here, at the end of the video.) The most legit concrete release date I've seen is "Holiday 2008" - Suttner, Nick. "Skate 2". Electronic Gaming Monthly (232). Ziff Davis Media Inc: 21. Syncopate (talk) 16:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for that, so should i change the release date to holiday 08? FortWhatever (talk) 00:32, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not totally sure how up-to-date that is now that I look around more, since on 1up.com (the umbrella site which covers EGM) now says it's December 15, so I maybe that's the newest agreed date. I haven't seen the November 19 date anywhere, so I think that should come down. I'm still on the fence about what should go up instead, though. Syncopate (talk) 04:04, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not totally sure too. So should we change it to December 15? FortWhatever (talk) 19:39, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The skate website (www.skate.ea.com) shows a pre-order link to gamestop.com, the release date on there is March 3rd, 2009. As accurate as it gets right now. RyanPwn (talk) 19:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to drag this out further, but I don't think there's enough proof to put up anything definite on the page. I haven't seen two sources agreeing on a date yet. Just because EA is linking GameStop as their retailer doesn't necessarily mean they are more privy to information concerning the release date. It might be the best we have so far, but I don't think it's good enough to put up as certain in an article. I'd like to get more agreement of sources or perhaps more users to weigh in before anything goes up on the page - I'd like to hear what everyone has to contribute. Syncopate (talk) 22:45, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think that under the Release Date it should just be March 2009 or Q1 2009 because it's not going to be released in 2008. Alot of sources said that it will be released next year. UltimateSin01 (talk) 17:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If there is no official announcement of a release date then do not add speculation like Q1 2009, leave it blank. Simple as that. -- ZookPS3 (talk) 19:27, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The recent trailer stated that the game would be coming soon. Anyone have any word when that may be? UltimateSin01 (talk) 16:32, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"Coming Soon" means it's still in development and they have no clue when it will be released. When they get closer to wrapping up production they will start narrowing down a month. -- ZookPS3 (talk) 19:37, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully it comes out soon. Earlier someone said that it would come out by December 15. Hopefully that is the coming soon date. UltimateSin01 (talk) 11:52, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's proof: http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/925/925925p1.html and they confirmed it in this blog: http://www.skate.ea.com/blog.action?blogId=Blog%20Nov14-20081114044430289.xml —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.154.154.63 (talk) 19:06, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It comes out today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.146.212.165 (talk) 12:09, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Skaters.

[edit]

I think someone should put something in the skaters part of the article, IDing all of the skaters who were in the original skate. Does anyone else agree? FortWhatever (talk) 02:48, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter who was in OG skate, this is the skate 2 article. And remember guys, make sure you leave a legitimate source with a skater, if he doesn't have that, it's considered spam and will be trashed. -- ZookPS3 (talk) 19:04, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References.

[edit]

People need to site references not just put CONFIRMED in magazine interview. Put a link to an interview, video, etc. If there isn't a legit link, source, or reference it'll be deleted. FortWhatever (talk) 00:17, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DLC

[edit]

Whenever more DLC comes out for Skate 2 will there be a section added for the DLC? Because there already is DLC for the game. UltimateSin01 (talk) 18:51, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Only if it is more substantial than what is there now (which appears to simply unlock everything for a cost), eg if its new sections of the city, or new competitions, etc. --MASEM 18:53, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Are we going to wait until a few more pieces of DLC come out until there is a section made for it? Because now there are two DLC's out, the Time is Money Pack and the newest, Filmer Pack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by UltimateSin01 (talkcontribs) 02:17, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are now 3 packs. 1 new location with new challenges, a new film feature with new items for your character, and the one to unlock everything. I think that's enough DLC to put a small section in.216.146.123.78 (talk) 00:43, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Hawk Games Wiki

[edit]

Help is needed at the Tony Hawk Games Wiki, which can be found here. It is very lonely. There are only about 3 users on there. If anyone of you join, and have questions, please see this user page. --98.148.171.15 (talk) 00:19, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

Hi there, I'm a wikipedia noob. I wanted to start out translating your article (who ever it was that actually wrote it) into German and I thought I'd better ask some questions, before I get it wrong, because I haven't actually played the game (I'm only familiar with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 :-S). I've stumbled across some sentences which I am not entirely sure of how to translate "In addition, players download spots and beat the high score to "own" them." It's simply meant in the usual sense of 'own' - like 'possess' - even though you kind of emphasised the word "own", right? And this one: "Gamers also got a first glimpse of the deep single-player story and challenges." confuses me. What's the "deep" supposed to mean?

And I was wondering, just because I'm curious: Was it only possible to create male characters in the original "Skate" game? If that's the case, does anybody know why? I think it'd be rather strange, I mean, considering that you could already choose from male and female in the Tony Hawk's games. --MinuMina88 (talk) 11:53, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you could only make male characters in the original Skate game. And also, deep means "in-depth," if I'm correct and also make sense. 2600:8801:238C:C000:F954:FEF6:ABFC:B909 (talk) 18:09, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
