Ambiguity

[edit]

There is some ambiguity in the phrase "It was intended to build 5 ships of the class, but because of economical problems only two were built."

I would rewrite the sentence as either "because of economic problems only two were built" meaning that the Norwegian Navy didn't have the funds to build more, or

"because of economy problems only two were built" in the context of warships this means that the ships were costly to run, using more resources, fuel, manpower etc than expected, these two interpretations are not the same and it needs to be determined which is correct. Decommisioning

[edit]

While I was doing military service in Ramsund (northern Norway) in 1998 - 1999 one of my duties was to maintain the moorings of one of these. I am not sure which one it was as I cannot remember if any numbers was painted on its side. I do not have any photos from then but recognizes the vessel from the illustration. The last thing I know about that vessel was that it was towed to an anchor location where it was supposed to be used as a target in a shooting practice, probably a target for missiles. As far as I know, all machinery, electronic equipment, weapon systems, and other things of practical or financial value was removed before the tow left Ramsund. --Skippern (talk) 15:51, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
