Clutter

[edit]

The sliven panorama picture is good but the article seems a little cluttered. We should space out the pictures. VmanBG 21:37, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. The pictures are very necessary for a good article, but right now there are 3 pictures in the introduction. They need to be spread out throughout the article. vlado4 21:23, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation from Bulgarian Wiki

[edit]

The Bulgarian wiki has some good historical information on Sliven. I have began translating it. vlado4 07:38, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stariya Briast?

[edit]

Why isn't there any mention to the Stariya Briast. It is one of the town's most famous symbols. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ComradeGeneral (talkcontribs)

Go ahead then. Add some info if you know about it. --Cameltrader 05:33, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Haiduts vs. Haiducks

[edit]

I changed "Sliven is famous for its Bulgarian haiducks" to "Sliven is famous for its Bulgarian haiduts". These are different terms. The one with k has a negative meaning while the one with t has a positive meaning. Accordig to the ottoman government all rebels were regarded as common outlaws but the bulgarian population made difference between common outlaws and freedom fighters. The latter were called "haiduts".

I have moved out the wrong picture of the "Central post office". The picture was of the Central Post Office of Stara Zagora, not of Sliven. If I find picture of the Sliven's central post office - I'll attach it here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ImmortalBG (talkcontribs) 19:24, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added some changes here and Sliven is the eighth largest in Bulgaria, Dobrich ninth and Yambol is great from Veliko Tarnovo! Lot of cities have confused people. I just want to help with the actual information, but unfortunately some people write What you want. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.126.130.231 (talk) 13:00, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Largest Cities

[edit]

Hello, changed locations of Sliven and Dobrich as currently really wrong! Sliven is the eighth largest city in Bulgaria, Dobrich is ninth! Thank you for your understanding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jorkos (talkcontribs) 13:59, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Impressive figures...

[edit]

Quote from [1] (Yahoo!7 News): "Sliven is the underage mother capital of Europe with 177 cases last year." Notable? -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 06:50, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by \bnowpublic\.com\b on the local blacklist
