Foundation

Has anyone any evidence as to the merger of clubs to found the original Slough club? The Swifts continued past 1890, with FA Cup entries, and Slough was certainly playing in 1887 (see e.g. Windsor and Eton Express - Saturday 17 December 1887 - reporting on a Berks Junior Cup tie.) Described in 1889 as newly divorced from the cricket and tennis club (W&E Express 12 October 1889) so it may have had an influx of members from others but no sign of a merger. But it does push the foundation date back. There's a Slough FC from 1883-86 but I think this must be a different entity. In Vitrio (talk) 21:52, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
