Untitled[edit]

Now, I can't be sure, but it always seemed to me that this song was a satirical protest of sorts. The fact that the lyrics are so obscenely violent yet are posed to such a mellow tune seems to emphasize the absurdity of the lifestyle described--not that it's false, but that no one should have to live like that.

I'd like to hear what others think of this concept.

Someone had assumed that the song was against rappers and their lifestyles being violent... I have seen nor read anywhere that supports this idea. Nowhere in the song is anything mentioned about rappers specifically, so this false statement seems to be unfair and uncredited. I believe, and could be wrong, that it is simply about media and how much Hollywood glamorizes violence in order to make a profit off of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GdfthrJohntheDon (talkcontribs) 18:53, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Why is this 'not notable'? This song redefined the group and resulted in a million dollar lawsuit. It is an example of censorship and as a result is notable off of the album in its own right. A redirect to Blue would ignore the controversy this song provoked. At least justify or argue for redirect/merging on this page first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Measly pawn (talkcontribs) 00:59, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What million-dollar lawsuit? The article makes not mention any lawsuit. This is the article in a nutshell: "This is a song (that was not released as a single) that had violent lyrics so the record label pressured the band into releasing it as in instrumental, except for the chorus. The version with all the lyrics was released outside of the US, and then, eventually, in the US." The one source for the article is not a reliable souce, either. If you can find verifiable information from reliable sources about this million-dollar lawsuit, by all means add it to the article. Otherwise, it will go back to being a redirect. The reference you added does not say the lawsuit had anything to do with this song. It seems to imply that the lawsuit stemmed from being dropped by the label. TheJazzDalek (talk) 17:33, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, but I'm certain that the new studio that was built was a result of the lawsuit re: the censorship on this song and am trying to track down where I read that years ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Measly pawn (talkcontribs) 21:03, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As sources do not appear to be forthcoming, I have reverted the page to a redirect. Please do not change this unless verifiable references from reliable sources are added to the article that confirm the song's notability per WP:NSONGS. TheJazzDalek (talk) 13:00, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
